History

The Cordeel Group is a genuine family company with a rich history. In 1934, Ghislain Cordeel started a carpentry business in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. We have since grown into an international, independent construction business with the Cordeel family still at the head of the firm.

  1. 1934

    Founding of Cordeel

    19-year-old Ghislain Cordeel founds his carpentry business in Sint-Niklaas (Belgium). It marks the beginning of the Cordeel Group’s rich history.

  2. 1979

    The next generation

    Ghislain Cordeel transfers the company to his sons Dirk and Marc Cordeel.

  3. 1970-1990

    Expansion outside Belgium

    Strong expansion of the Cordeel Group. The company goes international and serves its clients now also from offices outside of Belgium.

  4. 1999

    Cordeel in Bulgaria

    Establishment of Cordeel Bulgaria Inc.

  5. 2004

    First international project

    Execution of the first international project in Bulgaria for Frans Maas.

  6. 2006

    100% subsidiary

    Cordeel Bulgaria Inc. becomes a 100% subsidiary of the Cordeel Group.

  7. 2008

    Focus on the industrial sector

    To face the upcoming crisis, Cordeel Bulgaria’s main focus shifts to the industrial sector.

  8. 2011

    Design and build

    Cordeel Bulgaria builds the Bulgaria Mall with Infinity Tower as a design and build project.

  9. 2015

    New headquarters in Sofia

    With a new office building and warehouse in Sofia, Cordeel Bulgaria is ready for the future.

  10. 2018

    In-house maintenance department

    A maintenance department is created for full building maintenance and minor reconstructions.
